A discontinued and rare Studio Poole hand-thrown and hand-painted Venetian vase from the African Sky range, dating from 2000-2006. Hand-painted initials on the base show that the artist is Shaun Yearwood, one of Poole Pottery's highly skilled glaze painters. The vase, each one unique, depicts a fiery African sky with silhouetted Acacia tree, its vibrant red and orange colours resulting from the 'living glaze' firing technique. 
 
The vase is in excellent vintage condition without chips, cracks or scratches. There are a few tiny marks in the glaze dating from manufacture - these are not damage and are as a result of the hand-glazing technique.
