1960s Vintage Ercol Windsor Solid Elm 'Mobile' Low Sideboard Model 455

This lovely and practical piece of furniture is exceptionally well made of solid elm by English manufacturer Ercol. Featuring in the 1965 catalogue, the description draws attention to the 'gently curved surface of the drawers and doors', 'the oval shaped handles nestling in recesses sculptured from the solid wood' and the 'secret tenons interlocked by treble cross pinning'. The sideboard has castors and the interior and rear are also beautifully finished. The top drawer has a sliding cutlery tray. The 2 cupboards have adjustable height shelves. The original blue Ercol lion label is intact.
 
This example has been stripped back to the natural wood and re-finished with oil and a quality wax finish. It is in very good vintage condition, the only damage being on the outside of the side panels of the drawers (see photograph of drawers open).
