The 'Pandora's box' coffee table was designed by British manufacturer Ercol in the 1970s, appearing in the 1978 catalogue as 'a new concept in furniture'. Made of solid elm, Ercol mid century furniture is fantastic quality, built to last a lifetime.
The Pandora's box coffee table has great storage - 2 drawers plus plenty of space on the lower shelf for books, games or other items. It has a large square top and castors on the bottom to allow it to be moved easily around the room. Its rounded edges and timeless design make it perfect for both mid-century and contemporary interiors.
This particular table is a beautiful golden brown with pronounced grain. It has its original Ercol sticker inside the drawer with the date 1979. It has been gently restored - stripped, oiled and finished with a protective wax finish. It is in very good condition, with minimal marks to the wood and signs of use.
