50s Vintage Metal Coat Stand, Hall Stand, Black and Chrome, Atomic

Vintage 1950s Coat, Hat & Umbrella Stand
 
This fabulous stand could provide practical storage for your coats, hats and umbrellas, or stand alone as a sculptural piece of 50s design. In the Atomic style, it was inspired by the 50s' and 60s' fascination with the space age. The combination of black and chrome is reminiscent of London's 1951 Festival of Britain, and reflects the modernity of the post-war era.
 
It has a heavy iron base, a black metal lower stem and chrome upper stem. This is topped by a chrome flying saucer-shaped disk. Attached to this are the chrome metal coat hooks, finished with rubberised plastic black caps. The umbrella / walking stick stand is chrome. 
 
The stand measures 155cm tall by 35cm wide, and doesn't take up too much space, so is good for a relatively small corner.
 
The stand is in good vintage condition with only very minor signs of use. There would originally have been 2 umbrella hoops. Please examine the photographs and feel free to ask us any questions.
