A Huntley and Palmers biscuit tin, believed to date from the 1920s or 30s, with lithographed paper labels in red and blue. The tin would have been bought by a shop, and held assorted cocktail biscuits, which would have then been sold in paper bags, by weight. The label has the retail price as 1/9 per half pound. Inside is an old, possibly original, greaseproof paper lining. The tin would make a great addition to a collection, or could be used as kitchen storage, or just as a beautiful decorative item.
The tin is made from tinplate; the top is embossed with the figure of a baker and 'FRONT'; the bottom is embossed with 1/6 and 'A. LLOYD & SONS LTD. PATENT 531120'. The tin and labels are charmingly aged but stable. Please examine the photographs and feel free to ask us any questions, or request more pictures.
