A very large, heavy and attractive set of antique French scales, originally used in a bakers or patisserie, dating from the late 19th century. The scales have a metal mechanism within a solid mahogany case, with original brass weighing platforms and pans. On the front is a glass window with dial behind, with brass arrows to indicate the balance point. The dial and pans both bear the maker's mark. 
 
The scales are extremely decorative and would look fantastic in a country kitchen, or maybe in a shop or bakery. They do still work, but I can't guarantee their accuracy.
