G Plan Astro 60s Iconic Vintage Coffee Table in Teak and Glass

It's no surprise that the Astro is one of our most popular tables. Its smooth lines, fantastic build quality and beautiful solid teak have made it a design classic. It manages to look both retro and modern at the same time, and fits perfectly into both contemporary and vintage interiors. 
 
Made in the 60s in Britain by G Plan, it was designed by Victor Wilkins and is influenced by the popular Danish style and the atomic designs of the era. Unlike other tables built by G Plan and similar manufacturers, the Astro is made of solid teak, rather than veneer on chipboard or other wood. The frame holds a circular disk of glass. 
 
This particular example is in very good condition, having been gently restored. It has been cleaned, oiled and waxed to bring out the beautiful grain and warm colour. It has a few light signs of wear on the wood; the replacement toughened safety glass has only very minor scratches. Please study the photographs, and feel free to ask any questions.
