G Plan Astro 'Spider' Coffee Table in Solid Teak and Glass, Mid Century

The 'spider' coffee table was part of the Astro range designed by Victor Wilkins for English company G Plan in 1970, first appearing in the 1971 New Models Folder. Unlike other furniture of the era, the Astro tables are solid wood and exceptionally well made. The spider table was larger and more expensive than the more common Astro table and is therefore more rare and sought after. The reason for the table's nickname is obvious - the curved legs have an architectural feel that makes this table a real statement piece. It would suit any vintage-inspired or modern interior.
 
This table is in very good, original condition, with the original factory finish. It has been cleaned, oiled and finished with a protective wax. The wood is a lovely amber colour with beautiful grain. The table has its original glass, which is in very good condition with only tiny scratches; there are very minor marks to the wood.
