G Plan 1960s Vintage Spider Coffee Table in Teak and Glass
 
The 'spider' coffee table was part of the Astro range designed by Victor Wilkins for English company G Plan in the late 1960s. Unlike other furniture of the era, the Astro tables are solid teak and exceptionally well made. The spider table was larger and more expensive than the more common Astro table and is therefore more rare and sought after. The reason for the table's nickname is obvious - the curved legs have an architectural feel that makes this table a real statement piece. It would suit any vintage-inspired or modern interior.
 
This table is in very good, original condition, with the original factory finish. It has been cleaned, oiled and finished with a protective wax. The wood is a lovely amber colour with beautiful grain. There are very minor marks to the wood and there are minor scratches on the original glass, but these are barely visible.  Please examine the photographs and feel free to ask us any questions.
