Small Antique Jewellery Box in Ebonised Wood and Brass, Late Victorian 1890

A beautiful, small antique jewellery box, dating from around 1890, made of ebonised wood and brass. Originally made as a box for a pocket watch, it has been newly lined with gold velvet and moiré silk, and  would make a perfect presentation box for a jewellery gift, or to store small items such as earrings or cufflink. The box has inlaid brass decoration and plate on the top which could be engraved. It has a brass push button catch and hinge, and the bottom is covered with black felt.
