This is an antique rosewood Victorian jewellery box, dating from around 1870, lined in dark red velvet. It has delicate mother of pearl set into the domed top, matched by the escutcheon on the front. It is a perfect size for watches, necklaces and other jewellery, and would make an ideal gift for a woman or man. 
 
The box is in excellent condition with beautiful grain and shine, and only very minor marks. The lining is in very good condition, and the key turns smoothly.
