G Plan Tola and Black 50s Vintage Drop Leaf Dining Table
 
Part of the Tola and Black range introduced by British manufacturer G Plan in 1958, tola is a richly coloured wood sometimes known as African mahogany. The table has ebonised legs and brass fittings, creating a more luxurious look than the later teak G Plan designs. 
 
The table has 4 legs which support the centre section, and 4 more that fold outwards to support the 2 leaves. These can both be used at once to seat 4 people, or the table can be placed against a wall and just 1 leaf raised. The brass feet can be screwed out and in individually to compensate for uneven floors. The table has the early gold G Plan stamp underneath.
 
This item is in very good, original vintage condition. The tola veneer has a few very minor marks but the tabletop is in almost perfect condition. The veneer on the edge of the table has been repaired in a couple of places but is not noticeable without close inspection. The legs are in excellent condition with only a handful of tiny chips to the black legs. The brass feet have some patina. Please examine the photographs and feel free to ask us any questions.
